COMPARISON OF LEXISNEXIS ACADEMIC AND GOOGLE

Both LexisNexis and Google both have their pros and cons . LexisNexis is much more straightforward and the results are much more accurate . Google will gives you unlimited results. There will be thousands, even millions of results to choose from. They give you a lot more variety. However, LexisNexis have limited results shown as compared to Google. Therefore, users will not be to have much more information about the things that they are searching . Not only that, Google give you a much more variety of results in a better ways like showing the pictures, websites, news, videos, maps, more option and search tools. This allows the users to choose the way that they want their results to be shown. The images options allows users to understand the results better. Not only that, users will be able to download the pictures as references also. Unlike LexisNexis, users are  not allow to download any images. If you are searching for a place, users will be able to click on the map options to find the exact location of the places that they want. Unlike LexisNexis, they did not inform the users where exactly they can get the book they want if they really want to have a copy of it. As long as the users type the correct keywords, he or she will just have to click on the more option at Google and they will list out 2 options. One is the book and another is the Apps. Users will just have to click on the book option and there will be a list of books shown for users to choose from . As for this, LexisNexis is much more organise although they required more information and Google will have  millions of results showing which may confuse the users and make the users loses their patience and confuse them. In conclusion, I personally thinks that Google is better as compared to LexisNexis as it has more variety for users to choose from and it is much more interesting.

DISADVANTAGES AND ADVANTAGES OF LEXIS-NEXIS ACADEMIC

Hi everyone!! How have you guys been? Today I am going to talk about Temasek Polytechnic's e-library. Have you ever feel like going out to borrow a book but you are just too lazy to do it and decided to just use e-library instead? There are a lot of different kinds of search features in the LexisNexis Academic located in the resources in Temasek Polytechnic student portal. It is a platform for users to find their books. From all the search features that I have used, I personally finds that the "Build your own Segment Search" is the more convenient and useful one. Why do I says so?? Firstly, when you have reached the main page of LexisNexis Academic you need to click on the advance option to redirect you to a list of search features and you will be able to find the "Build your own Segment Search" there.  The pros of this feature is that people will just have to key in the keyword that they want, a list of books that is related to the keywords will be shown. This is much for convenient for all users and at the same time, easier to get the books that the users want. It helps users to save time and also conserved their energy as they did not have to go out and search high and low in the library. The cons of this feature will be sometime they may have forgotten their keywords and there will be no results if the users key in the wrong segment. 

THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF GOOGLE IMAGES

Hi ! It's me again. Today I will be blogging about Google images. It is one of the few new features that Google had added inside its search engine. Users will just have to search the most accurate results . It is essential for all users as users are allowed to combine search options to get the most accurate results. It is very convenient and efficient for all users.

Not only that, google images is very helpful for people of all ages. Firstly, for most of the projects that all students have, they need to include images for references and also use it as evidences for some of their works. The Google images is the best way for students to retrieve the images that they want. This helps them to save time . Secondly, there are millions of pictures in Google finding a picture that users need will be hard so the search engine is so called the 'life savior' function for users. Thirdly, all of us will definitely have our own preferences be it our favourite quotes and idols. Google images help us to be able to find our preferences and save the image or images. We can use it as our lock screens or print them out. As for my personal preferences, I will find images of motivational quotes and use it as my lock screen to encourage myself.


But everything has its pros and cons . Sometimes while users are searching for some particular images, some inappropriate  images may pop up. This may cause harm to teenagers under 18 . Not only that, some of the images that people have uploaded from social media for example Instagram and Facebook may appear in the search. In my personal opinion, this is like invading people's privacy.

VALUES AND IMPACT OF VOLUNTEERISM

A wise man, Saint Basil, A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.

Being able to have the ability to help others be it physically or mentally is a blessing not only to others but also to oneself. Every experiences that we have gone through helps us to learn something new which allows us to become a better person. Values are the best treasures that we can attain but at the same time it is the hardest to achieve. One of the greatest value of all is kindness. Therefore, we should continue to influence others to be kind and help one another if possible. 

Nowadays, kids around the world have been abandoned by their parents due to various reasons. For example, parents did not have enough money to raise their kids up. This turns have become a serious social issue. In order to allow the orphans to understand that there are still many people out there who love and care about them, orphanages have been build. This helps in making the lives of the orphans better as they receive proper teachings and also a place for them to live in. As the number of orphans has increase over the years, the lesser the manpower. Therefore, volunteers are needed.

Thank God for volunteerism ! The results of Volunteerism shows a lot of positive impacts on the society . For example, it raise awareness of reaching out a helping hands for the needy. People tend to understand more about how we should treat the orphans to make them feel welcome and loved. Moreover, when orphans feel that they are important to the society which develop a sense of belonging, they will feel hopeful in staying alive. They will be able to overcome all those negativities that are within them with the positivities and love that people had planted into them.

As for the volunteers, they themselves have achieve lots of experiences which will be able to help them in dealing future problems. For example, they will be able to encourage others when they are feeling down. Not only that, they will feel a sense of  achievements that they have help people to walk out of their darkest period, motivate them to do even more of this kind of social works. They will be able to improve as a person. Maybe in this case, which is knowing that having parents with us is really a blessing and that we must be contented. We ought to remember that they are the ones who raise us up and we should be respecting them not talk back when they scold and nag us. They are the ones who are always here for us no matter how screwed up we can be.
